In 3 Steps to Your Organic Oyster Mushrooms!

1. Open:

Remove the punched-out window at the front. The substrate bag remains in the box. Cut a large “X” in the substrate bag directly where the window is located.
Do not cut off the plastic flaps. Carefully score the mushroom mycelium with a fork.

2. Spray:

Place the box at room temperature in a bright spot without direct sunlight. Ideally, in the dampest room of your home. Spray a little water behind the flaps of the “X” twice daily, and later on the fruiting mushrooms. After about 2 weeks, the first baby mushrooms should be visible.

3. Harvest:

4 – 5 days later, before the edge of the mushroom cap fully curves upwards, the mushrooms are ready to harvest. For a possible further harvest, repeat steps 2 & 3.

Additional Tips:

If the substrate is already rather dry after the first harvest or if the second harvest is taking its time, you can remove the bag from the box and place it with the “X” facing down in a bowl of water for 2 – 3 hours.

If the chosen spot is rather dry, it may also be necessary to spray more than twice a day.
